From February 1st to March 25th 2010 we launch a very special offer:

For every reservation you make now for one or more nights in between these dates, you only pay Euro 70,- per person/night, Our breakfast buffet included, 7% tax not included. We have selected two rooms per day, in all the categories.

So be quick – the rooms will be given in a first come-first serve basis. Please keep in mind that we confirm singles or doubles, but not a specific room type.

Please use the code “Simply Seventy” in your availability request. We are glad if we can confirm a reservation for you at this rate, regardless of the number of nights!

Small print: This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

The Short Break Winter Special: a 15% discount on the net room rate for three nights or more. Valid from February 1st until March 25th 2010.

The Summer Special: a 10% discount on the net room rate for two nights or more, only valid for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, during July and August 2010.

Our Magic Seven: a 10% discount for stays of seven nights or more, all year round.

Talk about us: Give us a mention! If you enjoy your stay at our hotel, and you happen to recommend it to your friends, and they book a room, the next time you visit you’ll receive a 10% discount. In order to receive this, you’ll need to tell us the dates the guests were here, and their names.

Please keep in mind that we do not accept either credit nor debit card payment in case of reduced rates.

We close, as every year, between January 3rd and 31st 2010, both inclusive.

We have twin- and double-bedded rooms – if you have a preference, please let us know and we will do our best to honour your request. The difference between room categories is mainly due to size and distribution – all are decorated and furbished to the same standard.

Hans-Jürgen Pahl is responsible for the interior design. He designed our furniture, which was then handcrafted locally. Even though these wrought-iron works have a long tradition on the island, the result is unmistakably modern. We also worked together on the choice of handmade tiles, marbline sinks and the typical “trespol” on the floors – all materials to lay down an authentic Mediterranean character.

Our guests sleep on comfortable mattresses, with crisp linen, surrounded by natural materials and soft colours.

Some have called our rooms “Spanish Spartan”, others talk about minimalism. We wanted to achieve a cool, calm and collected feel to our rooms. A bit timeless, maybe. We believe cool does not mean cold. A no-fuss, quietly stylish environment where you will be able to unwind and make the most of your time on the island.

We have a cold/hot package unit. During the seasonal changes, with warm days and nights still chilly, we make every effort to please all our guests. Of course, you can turn it on and off, and regulate the temperature from your own room, but please keep in mind that it’s not possible to switch it to cold when the general unit is in heat mode, and vice versa.

The concept of art a a part of everyday life is evident throughout the Hotel. One can sense it on arrival – the water fountain, the handmade lamps – are some of the works specially commissioned by the Palau Sa Font.

We are also proud of the art we have displayed on our room doors. Artists from all over the world have contributed with mixed media works and photography to make each of our doors a unique work of art.

Frequently asked questions

Difference between room types [ + ]
The differentiations we have made between the rooms are based upon not only size, but also situation and configuration. All are decorated and furnished to the same standard. All rooms have private bathrooms with shower, whilst some have a bathtub. If you have a special request, please let us know at the time of your booking and we will try to honor it, depending on our availability.
Twin vs doubles [ + ]
We have 7 twin rooms, and 7 double rooms.
Our twin beds are usually fixed together, but can be parted on request.

When we confirm a reservation for two people, we will give you a twin or a double room, depending on availability, unless you request a specific room type at the time of the booking. We always make every effort to honor your requests.
Extra beds [ + ]
We have extra beds available – they can fit only in either the L or XL rooms, as well as the junior suite. (Please consider not more than 1 additional bed per room). For the additional bed there would be an extra cost of Euro 35,– +7% VAT per night, with our buffet breakfast included.
Size of rooms/beds [ + ]
The difference between room categories is mainly due to size and distribution - all are decorated and furbished to the same standard (more in Room types).

The XL rooms have approx. 25 m2 not counting the bathroom, while L rooms have an average of 19 m2, and our M rooms, an average of 14 m2.

All our beds are 2m long.

The double beds are 160cm-wide.

The twin rooms have two 90cm-wide beds – they are usually fixed together, but can be parted on request.

Two of the single rooms (S) have a 140 cm-wide bed, while others have 110cm-wide beds.
Rooms with views [ + ]
Being located in the old quarter of Palma (winding and narrow streets), and as the building has only two floors, we do not have rooms with spectacular views.
Balconies or Terraces [ + ]
Only the junior suite has its own terrace. Some of the rooms have French windows, and some have a French balcony.
Check-in time [ + ]
We guarantee check-in at 2 o´clock pm. An early check-in is sometimes possible, but depends on whether the room is booked for the previous night or not. We have no way of knowing much in advance what the situation will be like at the time of your arrival, but we will happy to provide an early check-in whenever possible.

Of course there is no problem in leaving your luggage here until your room is ready, and relax by our little pool with a cup of coffee.
Check-out time [ + ]
Check-out time is at 12 o´clock . A late check-out is also possible– but of course, it depends on whether the room is booked for the next night or not.

We have no way of knowing in advance what the situation will be like at the time of your departure, but we will happy to provide a late check-out whenever possible.

There is no problem at all in leaving your luggage with us as long as you need.
Late arrival [ + ]
Should you arrive after midnight, please keep in mind you will find the wooden front door locked. There is no bell! Please use the iron knocker instead, and our night concierge will open up for you.
Cancellation policy [ + ]
Our cancellation policy is the following:

14 - 7 days before arrival: 50% of the entire reservation.

6 - 0 days before arrival: 70% of the entire reservation.

We know it can be a bit on the strict side, but we are a small Hotel and short-term cancellations are something we try to avoid. We always make every effort to re-let the room at once, in which case there would be no charge at all.
Traffic restrictions [ + ]
As almost the entire old quarter is a pedestrian zone, we’re lucky not to have much traffic in our hotel’s area. Therefore it’s a bit tricky for hotel guests to drive to the hotel, but not at all hard:

You are allowed to drive to our door to leave your luggage, but afterwards you should leave your car in a public parking area (there are two, both a 5-minute walk away from the Hotel)

Usually there is no problem to stop at the door for a short time to unload your luggage – it is not a very busy road.

Taxis [ + ]
Most taxis will drive up to the door, as they are all allowed to enter the pedestrian zone. For directions, please print out this letter, in Spanish, and show it to your taxi driver!

The ride from the airport to the hotel should cost between Euro 15,- and 20,-, depending on the amount of luggage, the day (weekday or holiday) and if it’s night- or daytime. It takes about 20 minutes.
Airport Bus [ + ]
The city offers public transportation from the airport to Palma city with a frequency of 15or 20 minutes – this is another possibility to reach the Palau Sa Font, considering that the nearest bus stop is about 10/ 15 walking minutes to the hotel.

Noise and safety in the city [ + ]
As almost the entire old quarter is a pedestrian zone, we’re lucky not to have much traffic noise in our hotel’s area. Of course, being in this privileged location, right in the heart of the city, does include some people noise. This hotel is not isolated from the buzz of urban life.

Precautions should be taken as in any big city: be alert for pickpockets in crowds, and stay away from individuals pressing you to take a flower or a trinket as they will then ask money for it, or attempt a pick pocketing.
